Butyl Tri Glycol Ether
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Butyltriglycol is an almost colorless, neutral liquid with a weak odor.
It is soluble in water and most organic solvents, but only partially miscible with aromatic and aliphatic solvents.
Butyltriglycol dissolves:
nitrocellulose, cellulose ethers, chlorinated rubber, polyvinyl acetate, rosin, many synthetic and natural resins, as well as dehydrated lubricants and oils.
Butyltriglycol does not dissolve:
non-dehydrated fats and oils, cellulose acetate, polyvinyl chloride and rubber.
USE CASES
Butyl triglycol serves as a solubilizer for immiscible liquids and is used in the production of household detergents and metal cleaners, as well as wood preservation products. Like solvent p646, it is used in oils for hydraulic systems and in lubricating and cooling fluids. Butyl triglycol is used in the production of inks, inks and pastes for ballpoint pens. In the paint industry, this substance is suitable for use as a high-boiling solvent in hot-setting enamels, as a pouring agent, as an additional solvent in wood paints, to prevent wood fibers from sticking to the surface of wood. Butyltriglycol is suitable as a solvent for the creation of pharmaceutical and cosmetic preparations and for use in the leather industry.
